The last two months for me have been a bit nutty, and very exciting. My hiatus started because I accepted and began a new job. It continued after I manage to break my external hard drive that contained all of the pictures on Messy Jess C., along with all of my photos from every other major event over the last few years. Then, once I bought a new hard drive, my dinosaur of a computer died of a massive virus. After that I traveled to Texas and Pennsylvania for the holidays, and before I knew it, 2012 turned into 2013 and it had been 2 months since I posted anything.
I'm lucky though, the start of a new year means starting fresh with Messy Jess C, including, new posts and, yes, new resolutions.
In looking back over the past year, 2012 was pretty amazing. Jesse and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary. Jesse was accepted and started medical school. I traveled to lots of exciting places and ran in 10 races, including three marathons, a track meet, a 50K, and several half marathons. I started a new job, learned how to cook, learned how to curl my hair, and through the help of this blog dressed successfully on a budget.
Some resolutions didn't make it across the finish line. I still have a ways to go on catching up on True Blood, but its because I got a bit sidetracked by my new obsession Downton Abbey, which is probably a more sophisticated choice anyhow. I also only rode my bike a total of three times this year, so I am going to try to be a bit better about that this year also. Most likely, I probably did take at least one picture everyday - mainly of food - but it became a bit challenging writing a main post everyday, while maintaining the subpages as well. In all likelihood, you will see a few changes to Messy Jess C. over the coming months. I have posted my resolutions for 2013 on Messy Jess C. so I can hold myself accountable, but other pages, like Messy Jess C: Personal Training, may get consolidated back into Messy Jess C.
As I begin re-crafting this site, I would love to hear from you on what you would like to see more of and what you could do without.
In the meantime, be sure to check out my 13 for '13.
Again, Happy New Year! It's great to be back friends!
